GOVERNOR Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State has given assurances that the projected N2 billion Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the state will be achieved without additional burden on tax payers.

Governor Ahmed gave this indication in Ilorin, on Tuesday, when he inspected the new office complex of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service and the office of the State Revenue Tribunal under construction and rehabilitation respectively.

The governor explained that the new revenue generation drive would be premised on the employment of electronic system in tax collection, rather than the introduction of new forms of taxes.

“The major issue we want to address is the collection process which we intend to drive electronically,” he said.
