The Bauchi State Government has stated that it is yet to take a decision on the missing aircraft.

The deputy governor, Engineer Nuwu Gidado, explained that the government had to lease the aircraft when it was discovered that it wasn’t serving its purpose of purchase. He further revealed that due to lack of equipment to repair the aircraft, it was flown to another destination to take care of its maintenance.

Meanwhile, the captain of Overland Nigeria, Edward Boyo, expressed that the inability to secure a hanger for the aircraft was the reason why it had to leave the country.

Boyo however hinted that the aircraft is in a very good condition, saying that it has a life span of 35 year, a valid certificate of recognition, guaranteed by the Federal Government.

He included that Overland was ready to do all it takes and to see the aircraft remit money back to state.

The deputy governor also maintained that the government is yet to make a decision on the aircraft.
