Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Ovwigho Igbuya, has described the former commissioner of housing in the state, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, as a "curse to the state, particularly Sapele Local Government", describing his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as "good riddance to bad rubbish."

A statement in Asaba signed by Henry Ebireri, Chief Press Secretary to the speaker, challenged Akpeki to identify a project he complete in Sapele, a local government where he claimed to be the leader.

Igbuya, who also described the former PDP chieftain as a "political prostitute, foreigner and a highly irresponsible person", said he was behind his appointment as member of the Railway Board.

"I was the driving force to him being a member of the Peoples Democratic Party. I also recommended him for the board appointment at the federal level. Nothing was achieved in that appointment.

"In 2003, Akpeki became chairman of Waste Management Board. He is the worst person imaginable in the entire human population. He is the worst chairman in the history of the board. Refuse were not collected from Sapele. He was sacked and replaced by Hon Austin Okpoviekpurai," he said.

The speaker, who took time to correct the half-truths and dangerous insinuations contained in Akpeki's recent interview, also accused him of feeding the public with cooked and calculated lies.
