
The Inspector-General of Police (IG) Solomon Arase has reaffirmed his belief in intelligence-led policing, saying it is the ultimate for Nigeria. Arase said weekend, when he played host to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in his office at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
He maintained that policing Nigeria in the 21st Century requires intelligence gathering and analysis to effectively Police the Country.
Responding, the Director-General, NIMC, Mr. Chris Onyemena, said the lofty vision of Arase in policing Nigeria was the reason for his organisation’s seeking partnership with the Nigeria Police. He also maintained that they were ready to collaborate with the Nigeria Police in providing a database for the ongoing national identification exercises.
