North Korea today said its main nuclear facility, the Yongbyon complex, has resumed normal operations, and it is working to improve the quality and quantity of its weapons which it could use against the United States at any time.

Late on Monday, the North Korea's space agency said it was readying a new satellite for launch, indicating it may fire an upgraded long-range ballistic missile timed to around the seventieth anniversary of its ruling party on the tenth of October, 2015. Any such launch would violate international sanctions although the North insists it would be part of a space program for peaceful purposes.

North Korea has made threats against its neighbors and the US before. China, which is North Korea's main ally and trading partner, said today that it hopes relevant parties would respond with caution and refrain from taking actions that may elevate tension.
