The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned President Mohammadu Buhari-led administration to pay urgent attention to the management of the nation’s economy to save it from collapse.
The party, which said it is worried that the economy has been rapidly falling since the last four months, also cautioned the president and the ruling party not to jettison policies and projects of the past administration.
PDP in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh on Monday blamed the dire economic situation on the absence of clear-cut fiscal policy direction and an economic team to deal with the domestic and global challenges associated with a developing economy.
It said “whereas the PDP is in full support of the President’s efforts in tackling corruption and insurgency, the party is however concerned about the grave economic situation we now face, as well as indices from global economic watchers, which this administration has failed to give deserving attention, despite its predictable negative impact.
