The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State has challenged the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to make public its achievements in the over 100 days in office instead of dwelling only on ‘‘investigating and probing past administration.’’
The state Governor, Sani Bello, may have attracted the ire of the opposition with his first state broadcast to citizens since assumption of office which the opposition party adduced dwelt basically on how to probe Babangida Aliyu government and reducing the number of ministries.
The governor in the broadcast among others lamented the consequences of the empty treasury he said his administration inherited in fulfilling his electioneering campaign promises. He also said that anyone found liable or looting will not be spared.
But the PDP in a reaction, said that it was unfortunate that the APC government had nothing to show in over a 100 days in office after much talk and less of work in providing the much talked about change.
The state PDP Vice Chairman, Tanko Beji, said, “All we hear is more of probe and investigations and reducing ministries from 21 to 15 is not new because anybody could have done that.
“The government should not and cannot muzzle opposition voices rather he should pick from criticisms what is good for you to make amends.” Beji also challenged the APC government to tell Nigerlites who are eager to see changes coming up what he has done.
