Gambian international Abdoulie Ken Mansally Tuesday evening presented football boots and balls to the Gunjur Sports Committee geared towards the development of grassroots football and the Nawettan in this Kombo South settlement.

The presentation was done at the Nyamina football field in Gunjur and attended by a huge crowd. Mansally expressed delight in donating the football materials to the people of Gunjur.

"I am so grateful to be here today and see young talents who want to take up football as a career. My foundation started just last year but we are doing our quota in trying to support many areas in national development," he said.

"I can see a lot of potentials in Gunjur and all they need is the support and I and my Foundation will be bringing more materials in the near future."

The Foundation, he said, don't only support in terms of football kits but by extention school going children at nursery school level and the sick as well. "I have a huge package for December or early next year when my Foundation launches its fundraising campaign and the proceeds gained from there will be used in other developmental areas."

Speaking on behalf of the Gunjur Sports Committee, the first vice chairman, Lamin Wandi Darboe, hailed the efforts of the Mansally Foundation for the support. "We are overwhelmed and grateful for the football items donated as it came at the right time when the Nawettan is at a high level," he said.

"We hope you continue to remember us in your future programmes while we also continue to pray for you and your Foundation to be a force to be reckoned in the country."
