A group of Northern youths under the aegis of Arewa Youth Forum (AYF) has joined the frontline of civil organisations condemning spurious speculations questioning the integrity of the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Trust Fund (TETFUND), Professor Suleiman Bogoro.

There have been rumours from certain quarters that Prof. Suleima Bogoro is being pressured to step down after barely spending one year in the saddle as the Executive Secretary.

The Arewa Youth Forum has stated that well-meaning Nigerians are absolutely underwhelmed by calls from such faceless groups against Bogoro.

In an exclusive interview with CEOAFRICA, the chairman of AYF; Comrade Auwal Gambo Pali said that those behind such campaign of calumny against Bogoro are intending to rob Nigerian students of their rare privilege for an improved and excellent quality of education.

‘’Professor Bogoro has transformed our Universities and has also raised our tertiary institutions on a pedestal that every Nigerian should be proud of. Just within one year of being in the saddle, he has introduced the e-library system which is in tandem with the latest trends in Information, Communication and Technology (ICT).

In order to ensure that the dividends of his administration are felt by all and sundry, he also initiated the extension of TETFUND offices to all the six geo- political zones of the country.

With this achievement alone, we feel obliged as stakeholders in Nation building to lend a voice in support of Prof. Bogoro to keep up with his selfless obligation to Nigerians which is void of prejudice and we will not relent in our determination to guide him where the need arises because his office stands as an engine room for significant strides in our tertiary institutions.’ He said.

Comrade Auwal Gambo Pali further stated that the AYF understand the import of the mischievous publications being peddled online by unknown links. He also noted that many of these news links are just bent on stirring needless controversies.

‘’Prof. Sulieman is not a politician and has never been partisan in the cause of dispensing his duties. We call on President Buhari to kindly maintain the status quo in the management of TETFUND so as to enable students benefit from Professor Bogoro’s managerial excellence apparently armed with the practical knowledge of how tertiary institutions operate within the ambit of the law as well as its challenges and solutions.’’
