
Oyo State House of Assembly has passed into law, the Revenue Administration Bill 2015 forwarded to it by Governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
The bill was passed at the Plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Honourable Michael Adeyemo after a clause by clause consideration of the report by the Chairman of the Ad-Hoc Committee, Honourable Olusegun Ajanaku that considered the bill.
Honourable Ajanaku after submitting the report said it was imperative for the House to pass the bill into law for the State to move forward economically.
In his ruling, the Speaker, Honourable Michael Adeyemo commended members for their overwhelming support for the passage of the bill, saying this would assist at improving the socio - economic development of the state and boosts revenue generation drive.
Also at the Plenary, the House considered 5 different bills and passed them for second reading.
The bills were the Oyo State Laws Repeal Bill 2015, Ministry of Environment, Physical Planning and Urban Development Bill 2015, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Bill 2015, Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives bill 2015 and Ministry of Finance and Economic Development Bill 2015.
Honourable Adeyemo who announced 5 Ad-Hoc Committees to further work and re-visit the various bills were directed to submit their report back to the House on Friday, July 10,2015.
Earlier, Honourable Olusegun Olaleye representing Ibadan North11 Constituency commended President Muhammad Buhari on his pragmatic effort at bailing out the States owing salaries of workers through the release of fund to actualise the payment of the arrears of salaries in their respective states.
Honourable Olaleye noted that the action of the President had further confirmed that the country was being led by leaders whose the welfare of the citizenry is paramount in their hearts.
