Husband, Wife, Son Arrested Over Stolen Vehicle

Three people, Moses Oni, wife and son have been arrested by men of the Osun Police Command over stolen vehicle.

The suspects were arrested after the husband had informed the owner of the missing vehicle that he had information of the whereabouts of the vehicle but failed to provide the necessary information that could lead to discovery of the vehicle.

The vehicle, Toyota Camry (Pencil) belonging to a staff of the University College Hospital, Ibadan) with registration number GH 936 LND (name withheld), was reportedly stolen on June 17 at Ilesa, Osun State and a report was made at the state radio.

The Leadership learnt that similar report was made at the Bolorunduro Police Division, where investigation commenced immediately.

Few hours after hearing the news on the radio, Oni called the owner of the vehicle on phone and informed him that he had information about the stolen vehicle. He demanded for the particulars of the vehicle.

He later called the owner of the vehicle to confirm the particulars and promised to disclose the whereabouts of the vehicle on the payment of N50, 000.

They both agreed for N25, 000 and the suspect immediately sent a Diamond Bank account number 7776884008, Odo-oro branch, Ilesa.

On inquiry, the owner of the vehicle discovered that it was on-line account and he immediately informed the suspect, who promised to send another bank account number.

The Leadership gathered that the suspect sent a Wema Bank account number with different name. Olojo Federick Taiwo, 230285967, Ilesa.

When the owner of the missing vehicle got to the band, he met the manager in-charge, who said there was no way the owner of the account can by nabbed without the support of the police.

Few hours later,  a young man came to cash the money but on inquiry, he said it was his father who sent him and that he knew nothing about the money.

Consequently, the young man was arrested while his father and his wife were arrested at Ibokun.

On investigation, the suspect had confessed calling the owner of the missing vehicle that he had information about the stolen vehicle.

 Meanwhile, the Leadership gathered that the matter has been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Oshogbo for further investigation.
