Lagos State Governor Ambode
Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has his eyes set on commerce, trade and employment to make the metropolitan city a better place to live in.
Ambode will work to improve commerce, trade and reduce unemployment in the state thus increase the Gross Domestic Product and also create more jobs.
He was talking at an interactive session, weekend, on how his administration is geared towards transforming the state.
The Ambode administration would give priority to infrastructural development in the state. There is the possibility of constructing a 10-lane expressway that would run from Ikorodu axis in Lagos through Itoikin, Epe to Ijebu-Ode so as to ease traffic.
Ambode regarded the priority given to the Oshodi-Murtala Mohammed International Airport way as a misplaced one. There is no fast-track rail that can take goods straight to the airport, he says.
His administration would make careful efforts to grow the tourism potential of the state and, towards this end, a summit would be organised with stakeholders in the sector.
Other plans include realignment of some ministries and bringing more people into the tax net of the state.
