President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Colonel Hamidu Ali as his Chief of Staff, following Nigerians' anxiety over appointments into some key positions to form his cabinet.

Contrary to the expectation of political onlookers, there had been perception that the former governor of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Fashola, would fill this vacant position, but fate had beckoned on Colonel Hamidu Ali. 

Meanwhile, some Nigerians have raised eyebrow over this new appointment, admitting that the northerners have been seen filling all the important positions.
