Twelve persons suspected to be students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, have been reported killed when a container crushed a fully loaded bus.

A spokesperson for the police, Mr Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed "a motor accident which reportedly killed 12 persons."

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sagamu-Benin expressway near Ilishan Remo North Local Government of Ogun State.

According to the commander of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Tommy Hamzat, the truck driver, who was driving against traffic, lost control and ran into a bus heading towards Lagos and killed all 12 occupants including the bus driver.

The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the mortuary of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu, according to reports.
