The Kwara State House of Assembly has appointed Hajia Alimat Jumai Kperogi as the deputy clerk of the House following the retirement of Prince Adegboyega Olanipekun who was working in that capacity.

The Speaker, Dr Ali Ahmad, who announced Jumai's appointment, said it was in line with Order 22 (9) of the Rules of the House.

Motion for her appointment was moved by the Majority Leader, Hon Hassan Oyeleke, and seconded by Barrister Kamaldeen Fagbemi.

Jumai was appointed because she is the next most senior officer in the department of legislative matters.
