Mr Ogundiaro Rasaq
In this interview, the Deputy Director on other taxes at the Internal Revenue Service of Oyo State, Mr Ogundiaro Rasaq, revealed the drive behind his daily meal called ‘Amala’. ANUOLUWA BABALOLA brings excerpt.
What is your best food?
Do I have best food? I don’t have best food, what I have is, in the morning, I take a light food, preferably pap with “moin moin”; in the afternoon, I don’t like to miss “amala” or any solid food, it is a must and I just have to take it. In fact, out of seven days in a week, hardly will I miss a day or two without taking amala in the afternoon. So, at night, I normally take either beans or pap, just to cap my day up.
You are an Ibadan man?
Yes, fully an Ibadan man.
So, would you say that is the reason you like amala?
It is not so, but I think that is the way I was brought up. I am used to taking amala in the afternoon; so, it is a part of me already.
What do you do for relaxation?
For relaxation, I watch football and read books.
Okay, what is your philosophy about life?
I believe and I share that belief with people that it is good to be good and that respect is reciprocal. Also, I believe there is law of karma; whatever you do to people, they will do it to you. If they don’t do it to you directly, don’t forget you have siblings and children and you don’t know where they might be any other day. So, try to always be good to any person that comes your way. Also, let people know your principle wherever you are, and accommodate people the way they are.
