Nemesis has finally caught up with three suspected members of a robbery gang in Ajegunle, as they are presently chilling off at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja.

CEOAfrica reliably gathered that they were arrested last weekend following the apprehension of one of them, Tunde, by an angry mob during a failed robbey operation on Ligali Street.

Our reporter was told that the suspects had disclosed that they had for long been terrorising Ajegunle, robbing people of their money and property, but "we have not taken any life, as that was not included in our robbery constitution."

The apprehension of these suspects was made easier by members of a vigilante group that attacked them during another robbery incident. As others escaped, one of them was caught and he was about to be given the mob treatment (burnt alive) when reason prevailed and he was taken to the police station.

The suspects revealed that there was division of labour in the gang; some were in charge of robbery operations, while others were in charge of keeping the gang’s weapons after each robbery operation.

Investigation is ongoing as the police will want to know if the gang restricted itself to Ajegunle.
