Students of Ogun State Institute of Technology have crippled academic activities in the school.

According to one of the students who claimed the anonymity said, the pandemonium that ensued following the protest by the students made the Rector of the institute, Dr. Funkee Akinkuolere to go into hiding.

It was learnt that the protest started when the students were stopped from holding their election by the Rector.

According to a source, the election was supposd to have been held last year December, but, was postponed by the rector who resumed office June last year.

Effort made by CEO  Africa correspondent to get the Rector to comment on the issue proved abortive.

Meanwhile the state government has directed that the institute be closed down till further notice.
