
The#BringBringBackOurGirls(BBOG) group yesterday at its sitout mourned late Senator Ahmed Zanna who died recently in Abuja.
Speaking during the group’s sitout, a member of the group, Olatunji Olanrewaju stated that since the late Zanna was one of the members of the group, it was necessary for the group to commiserate with the family.
It would be recalled that the late Senator Zanna, Senator Ali Ndume and the Senator-elect, Dino Melaye have been participating actively since the advocacy on the abducted Chibok girls started last year.
The late senator who had visited the group numerous times with Senator Ndume was passionate about the issue of the abducted girls and the insurgency in the Northeast.
Recall that the late Senator Zanna representing Borno State, died Saturday in Abuja after battling with undisclosed illness that caused him partial paralysis at the age of 60 years old.
Senator Zanna, who represents Borno Central senatorial district, was re-elected during the April 11 general election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement announcing his death, Senate spokesman, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe said Senator Zanna died in Abuja in the early hours of Saturday in Abuja.
Zanna, he said would be remembered for his love of his state, particularly the people of Borno Central senatorial district adding that he will be missed for his painstaking approach to committee work and care for legislative details in terms of bills and motions.

It would be recalled that the 7th Senate had lost four senators prior to Senator Zanna’s death, senators Datong, Pius Ewheriodo, Awaisu Kuta and Uche Chukwumerije.
