Worried by the excruciating pains the effect of drug abuse could cause to youths, Akwa Ibom State governor Godswill Akpabio has warned Nigerian entertainers to avoid indulging in such illicit habit.

Speaking in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital at a forum of entertainers, who converged at the launch of a musical album by Mc Galaxy, Akpabio, accompanied by the governor-elect, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, advised the artistes to use their trade to reposition the youths.

He urged them to be role models to the younger generation, noting that it behoves them to show the future generations the way forward towards becoming leaders.

He noted that the multiplier effects of substance abuse could truncate the future of the budding talents in the industry and charged them to be good ambassadors of their calling.
