Nigerian Ambassador to Argentina, Mr Chive Kaave has stated that the alliance between the Yorubas and Hausa/Fulanis will not work in the next Saturday’s presidential election.

The Tiv born former member of the defunct Nigeria Football Association (NFA) who went down the memory lane, said that “as a student of Political History, the Yorubas have never had alliance with Hausa/Fulani since the birth of Nigeria. The only time there was alliance was between Yorubas and Middle belt under the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo,” adding that the Yorubas would surely vote President Jonathan come Saturday

Kaave, who was speaking to newsmen in Makurdi, on Sunday, dismissed with a wave of the hand the romance of former Lagos State governor, Chief Bola Tinubu with General Muhammadu Buhari, noting that “going by the political history of Nigeria, such alliance will collapse before March 28.”

The ambassador further submitted that it would be absurd for the nation to produce four presidents within16 years of the current dispensation, adding that the stability of Nigeria lies in the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Kaave, a former comissioner for Justice in Benue State, said: “just last week, President Jonathan packaged his transformation agenda which would begin to manifest in few years to come, so, allowing the president the second term in office will enhance growth and full actualisation of the transformation.

“Changing this administration now is tantamount to instability, and it will not be to the advantage of the nation to say within the16 years of this political dispensation, Nigeria is producing four presidents, it does not only retard development but it creates instability in polity,” he said.
