THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday, berated the All Progressives Congress (APC) for trying to link President Goodluck Jonathan to the Monday’s protest by the members of the Odu’a Peoples Congress (OPC) in Lagos.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja, by its national publicity secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, on Wednesday night, the party described the allegation as cheap blackmail and part of the mind game being played by the APC in their spirited effort to discredit and scuttle the electoral process.

The PDP declared that it was absurd for anybody to attempt to link President Jonathan to a protest and disagreements involving rival factions of an organisation such as the OPC, adding that the president had proven himself to be a peaceful, humble and forthright leader with unparalleled inclination for political accommodation.

It then advised the APC to face its dwindling electoral fortune and shed the penchant for false alarms and unsubstantiated allegations against President Jonathan and the PDP-led Federal Government.
