National chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, on Thursday, in Abuja, listed what he considered as factors that currently heighten pre-election tension in the country.
He said the massive attack on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), use of PVCs and the massive court actions to have the party’s presidential candidate, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, disqualified were fuelling the pre-election tension.
Oyegun, who spoke at the end of a National Peace Committee meeting, insisted that there was the need to de-escalate what he described as the unnecessary political war ongoing currently.
“If all these can de-escalate, people will start believing that this election will be relatively free and fair,” he said.
