The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has described as baseless, the allegation that the party wanted to use teachers and civil servants to swing the forthcoming election in favour of the party.

The APC was reacting to a statement by one Mr Felix Oboagwina, speaking for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the state, Mr Jimi Agbaje.

According to the APC, the allegation was yet another of the baseless hoaxes and childish prattles that had characterised the campaign of PDP.

In a release in Lagos, signed by the state publicity secretary of the APC, Joe Igbokwe, the party lamented that PDP lived on a campaign of blackmail, forgeries and gossips, thinking that Nigerians were so gullible to buy into its numerous tales that belittle a worthy campaign for people’s votes.

The party said PDP, covering up the monumental fraud of buying permanent voter cards (PVC) with huge sums of money all over Lagos, thought it could use this to rig election in a state, where it hardly existed.

“We find the allegation of PDP as laughable. We urge Lagosians to disregard the diversionary allegations of the PDP and monitor closely some groups and individuals, who are inducing innocent people all over Lagos,” the party said.
