In his bid to win the heart of the electorates for the coming general elections, the People’s Democratic Party PDP gubernatorial flagbearer in Oyo state, Sen. Teslim Folarin took his campaign train to Eleyele area of Ibadan. He visited the community heads (Baales) to canvass for votes for PDP at all elective levels and promised to give them and their communities their dues of the dividends of democracy if voted into office. He said: “I understand the roles of our royal fathers; that is why my government must work with the traditional institution to move the state forward.” Speaking on behalf of other community heads, Baale Durowade appreciated Folarin for giving them the due respect and honour of visitation; and prayed for his success. He also appealed to Sen. Folarin to remember their community in term of development if he gets to office. Other Baales present at the occasion are Baale Adefioye of Adetokun, BaaleAkanji of Ile Tuntun and others. While addressing his mammoth supporters at Eleyele, Folarin thanked them all for turning out enmass to welcome him. He urged his supporters to avoid any form of violence, describing PDP as a party of focused and refined people. He quickly reminded them that violence cannot bring about the development PDP desired for the state. He appealed to them to ensure that they are armed with their Permanent Voter’s Cards with which they can use to displace the APC led government in the state. He told them to only look out for the umbrella logo on the ballot paper when they go to vote. In a similar development, he visited Okepade, Ayeye, Orita Merin and Aleshloye market environs with his long campaign train through the markets. Scores of traders and market women were at hand to give him a rousing welcome to their business community. In his speech to them, he said: “I want to assure you people that if you give me your votes to get to the office, I will in turn boost your business through government credit facility that is already available.” He told them that PDP is the only party that is progressive indeed as he will not embank on houses and shops demolition. Folarin extolled the economic importance of the traders which according to him, the state cannot survive without them. He begged them to remember March 28th and April 11th as the days slated for the elections which they must come to vote for the party that would really empower them. Prof. Adejumo, a chieftain of the party while urging everybody to vote PDP, told the excited crowd of supporters that just as PDP is the solution to Nigerian problems, Sen. Teslim Folarin is also the solution to the myriad problems of Oyo state. The Former Minister State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obaninikoro was also there to draw support for President Jonathan and Senator teslim Folarin.
