Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has mocked the Nigeria Police Force over reports that some officers deployed to Osun State for the August 15 governorship election are still stranded in the state weeks after the poll.

Davido reacted to the report in a post on his verified X account, questioning why the officers had yet to return to their respective formations.

“Could it be because dem no deliver?” the singer wrote.

The officers, reportedly drawn from various Mobile Police Force squadrons across the country, were deployed to Osun ahead of the governorship election to provide security during the exercise.

However, reports indicate that some of them have remained in different camps across the state weeks after the election, instead of being withdrawn to their original formations.

Davido had openly backed the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is his uncle, during the election campaign.

Adeleke of the Accord Party was declared winner of the election after securing 511,067 votes across 19 local government areas.

His closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled 444,815 votes and won in 11 local government areas.

Davido’s latest comment has since generated reactions online, with social media users weighing in on the reported delay in the redeployment of the police officers.
