Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, has arrived at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo for questioning over controversial remarks attributed to him in a viral video ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

Fadahunsi arrived at the command around 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday in the company of the Commissioner of Police in charge of election and security, Samuel Erale.

The senator was invited by the police over comments allegedly considered threatening and capable of inciting violence during an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Ilesa.

In the viral video, Fadahunsi was alleged to have directed supporters to “kill” members of the Accord Party, triggering widespread condemnation ahead of the election.

The senator later clarified his remarks, saying they were political and that he meant supporters should “kill Accord with votes” rather than through violence.

His arrival at the police headquarters comes amid heightened political tension in Osun State ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

Security agencies have continued to warn political parties, candidates and their supporters against inflammatory statements and actions capable of inciting violence or disrupting the electoral process.

More details later…
