The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the immediate disengagement of Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services) from handling Nigerian visa applications in the United States.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Service Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi.

According to the NIS, the decision affects prospective travellers and Nigerians residing in the United States who require visas to enter Nigeria.

The service said OIS Services, which operated Nigeria's Visa Application and Submission Centres in the US, has been relieved of its responsibility for collecting and submitting visa applications on behalf of the Nigerian Mission.

Following the development, all applicants seeking Nigerian visas are to submit their applications directly to the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or at the Nigerian Consulates in New York and Atlanta until further notice.

"The Nigeria Immigration Service hereby informs the general public, particularly prospective travellers and Nigerians residing in the United States of America who may require a visa to enter Nigeria, that Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services), the operator of Nigeria's Visa Application and Submission Centers in the United States, has officially been disengaged from the collection and submission of visa applications on behalf of the Nigerian Mission, effective immediately," the statement read.

The NIS assured applicants that the Nigerian Embassy and the Consulates have put adequate measures in place to ensure the seamless submission, processing and issuance of visas.

It also advised applicants to monitor the official communication channels of the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigerian Mission in the United States for updates on visa application procedures.

The service thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation, reaffirming its commitment to efficient service delivery.
