United States President Donald Trump has sparked reactions after describing rapper Nicki Minaj as "so hot" during a White House Rose Garden luncheon on Monday.

In a video from the event that has since gone viral on social media, Trump introduced the award-winning rapper to guests, praising her talent, popularity and support for him.

"We also have a woman that is respected and so hot. She is such a great friend, a fantastic person, a woman that is respected by everybody, and she's got real talent; we have Nicki Minaj," the president said.

Minaj later shared photos from the White House event on her X account, appearing to welcome the president's remarks.

"Whoa! #WhiteHouseBarbie with her favorite President of all time!" she wrote.

The appearance comes months after Minaj attended the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, where she publicly expressed her admiration for the president. At the event, she described herself as "probably the president's number one fan," adding that she was unconcerned by criticism or public reactions to her support.
