Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has vowed to teach Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, a political lesson ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Fayose accused Makinde of dismantling the South-West structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and taking control of his political base in the region.
The former governor said he is not a politician who can be taken for granted, warning that those who disrespect him would face political consequences.
"We will teach Makinde a political lesson. If you respect me, you will get all my values and support, but if you disrespect me, you will get the downside of Fayose," he said.
"I'm not a politician that is taken for granted."
Fayose further accused Makinde of betraying political trust within the South-West PDP, insisting that the governor's alleged takeover of party structures would not go unanswered.
"Makinde destroyed the South-West PDP and took my structure. When we are in politics, we are meant to be fair," he stated.
The former governor also described Makinde's reported presidential ambition as a major political misstep.
According to Fayose, while Makinde has every right to contest for the presidency, political aspirations should not come at the expense of loyalty and trust.
"Declaring for the presidency was his undoing. He has the right to contest for president, but we don't betray trust. Elections are not far away again. We will get there," he added.
In a dramatic remark, Fayose said Makinde had "stolen the land of the deities," warning that the deities would eventually reclaim what belongs to them.
His comments highlight growing tensions within the PDP in the South-West as political realignments begin to emerge ahead of the 2027 general elections.
