The Oyo State Police Command has dismissed reports claiming that pupils and teachers abducted from Ahoro Esiele and Yawota communities in Orire Local Government Area of the state have regained their freedom.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the command described the reports as false, misleading, and entirely unsubstantiated, stressing that no such development had occurred.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said there was no confirmed release or rescue of the victims as of the time of the statement and urged members of the public to disregard the reports.

"The claim that the abducted pupils and teachers have been rescued is false and should be disregarded in its entirety," the statement said.

The command, however, reassured residents of Oyo State and the families of the victims that intensive and coordinated efforts to secure their release remain ongoing.

According to Ayanlade, security operatives are working tirelessly and have deployed all available human and operational resources to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and their reunion with their families.

He added that efforts are also focused on tracking down those responsible for the abduction and ensuring they are brought to justice.

The police reiterated their commitment to the safety of residents and pledged to keep the public informed of any verified developments regarding the rescue operation.
