Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has blown hot on his former political godfather and former governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Addressing a crowd in Kano, Yusuf said if Kwankwaso does not control his words, he would begin to say things the former presidential candidate would not like.
He was reacting to Kwankwaso’s statement during an interview in which the former New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, leader accused him of betrayal and vowed to defeat him in the 2027 governorship election.
“How can a 69-year-old man (Kwankwaso) call someone who is 63 a boy? I tolerated that because of obedience.
“If he doesn’t keep quiet and control his words, I will start saying things he wouldn’t like. I believe peace and stability in Kano State are paramount, but if we’re pushed too far, we will speak out,” he said.
recalls that Yusuf was elected under the platform of the NNPP in the 2023 general elections but later defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC).
