Popular Nollywood actor, Zubby Michael, has declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The actor, who recently obtained the party’s membership form, announced his ambition to represent the Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in Anambra State. He made the declaration on Saturday following his formal registration with the ADC in his hometown, Ozubulu Ward 5, located in Ekwusigo Local Government Area.

The development comes amid earlier reports that the actor had aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in preparation for the 2027 Nigerian general elections, raising questions about his current political affiliation.

Zubby Michael’s political move also coincides with a broader trend of entertainers from Nigeria’s South-East region joining the APC to mobilize support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the next presidential election. Many of these figures are actively involved in the party’s “City Boys Movement” within the region.

Analysts suggest that his reported alignment with the ADC, an opposition party, could influence the political landscape in Anambra State as preparations for the 2027 elections gradually intensify.
