President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday departed Lagos for Abuja after celebrating Eid-el-Fitr, concluding a series of official and political engagements in the state following his recent visit to the United Kingdom.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President left from the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 6:44 p.m.
The statement noted that Tinubu had returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom in the early hours of Friday and participated in Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks.
During his stay in Lagos, the President met with 23 state governors, including Biodun Oyebanji. He also hosted a delegation from the European Union and members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC).
Vice President Kashim Shettima was also in Lagos, where he briefed the President on his recent visit to Borno State following a suicide bombing incident.
Ahead of the President’s departure, Dapo Abiodun and former Ogun State governor, Olusegun Osoba, visited him at his residence.
At the airport, Tinubu was seen off by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, as well as senior government officials and party stakeholders.
