The Vice President of Zimbabwe, Kembo Mohadi, alongside Zimbabwe’s Minister of Youth, Tino Machakaire, were among several high-ranking officials and dignitaries who attended the 2026 Iconic Africa Summit & Honors, recently held in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The summit, organised by Iconic International Holdings (Pty) Ltd in partnership with the Mayorkings Charity Foundation, was convened under the leadership of Temisan O. Louis, Founder and Group Chairman of Iconic International Holdings.
Drawing delegates from more than 54 countries, the high-level gathering brought together over 1,000 business leaders, policymakers, African heads of state, and youth change-makers. The 2026 edition of the summit was held under the theme: “The Africa We Want: Sustainable Development; Everyone’s Responsibility.”
Addressing participants, Vice President Mohadi reaffirmed Zimbabwe’s commitment to regional stability, inclusive economic growth, and deeper continental cooperation as critical pillars for Africa’s sustainable development.
In his remarks, Dr. Louis described the summit as more than a ceremonial gathering, noting that it served as a convergence point for influence, innovation, and measurable impact. He urged stakeholders to translate policy conversations and commitments into tangible outcomes capable of creating jobs, scaling enterprises, and securing a prosperous future for Africans across the continent.
According to him, a key highlight of the 2026 summit was the strategic partnership with Concord For Young Women In Business Global Zimbabwe, led by Apphia N. Musavengana, who was appointed Executive Global Vice President of Iconic International Holdings and formally honoured at the event. The collaboration, he noted, underscored the summit’s strong commitment to gender-inclusive economic growth and the empowerment of women entrepreneurs across Africa.
Held at the Rainbow Towers & Convention Centre, the summit featured high-level plenary sessions and panel discussions focused on regional integration, indigenous entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. Discussions also highlighted the importance of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and advanced the vision of a borderless Africa, with calls for visa-free movement to enhance intra-African trade and unity.
The summit also recognised outstanding individuals and organisations for their significant contributions to Africa’s development. Among the honourees was Peter Mutharika, who received an award for leadership and commitment to democratic governance. Zimbabwe’s First Lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa, was honoured with the Iconic Woman of the Year Award for her philanthropic initiatives through the Angel of Hope Foundation and her advocacy for vulnerable and marginalised communities.
Other award recipients included Prince Lindani, recognised for his contributions to youth empowerment and cultural diplomacy in Southern Africa, and Hon. Tino Machakaire, who was acknowledged for his proactive leadership in youth development as a catalyst for national unity.
Further honourees included Ndahafa Hapulile, who received the African Youth Ambassador Award and the Patrice Lumumba Leadership Excellence Award; the Babukisi Foundation, recognised for the preservation of Siswati culture and global digital outreach; and Frank Mwenechanya, honoured for innovation in modern agriculture and irrigation.
The 2026 Iconic Africa Summit concluded with renewed calls for cross-border collaboration, inclusive leadership, and actionable strategies to accelerate Africa’s sustainable development agenda.
