Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Oyo State Chapter, is set to hold its 2026 Prayer Summit on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Adamasingba Sports Complex, Gate 4, Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, from 8:00am to 12:00 noon.

The two-day spiritual gathering will climax with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Okebola, Ibadan.

The summit, themed “If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14), is expected to bring together prominent Igbo leaders, clergy, professionals, traders, youth groups, and community stakeholders from across Oyo State and beyond.

Speaking ahead of the event, the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Oyo State Chapter, Hon. Umeh Okechukwu Nwabunike, described the summit as a strategic spiritual intervention for Ndi Igbo and the nation at large.

According to him, “This prayer summit is not just a religious gathering; it is a call for humility, repentance, unity, and collective intercession for our people and our land. At a time when our nation faces multiple challenges, we believe strongly that sincere prayer, backed by right actions, can bring healing and restoration.”

Hon. Nwabunike noted that the programme has been carefully designed to address both spiritual and social wellbeing, adding that it will feature impartation sessions, health talks, intensive prayers, and free medical checks, among other activities.

He further disclosed that respected ministers of God, including Pastor Linus Okeke, Archdeacon S. D. Ezeike, and Rev. Fr. Benedict Ugwuegbu, will minister at the summit, assuring participants of a life-transforming experience.

“We are expecting a high-level turnout of traditional rulers, market leaders, professionals, women and youth leaders, and members of the Igbo community resident in Oyo State. This summit is open to all who desire spiritual renewal, peace, and progress for our people,” the Ohanaeze president added.

He therefore called on Ndi Igbo and well-meaning Nigerians to attend and actively participate in the programme, stressing that the 2026 Prayer Summit aligns with Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s commitment to unity, moral rebirth, and sustainable development of the Igbo nation.
