The Nigerian Association of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in the Americas (NAPPSA) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Ogbuefi Clement Nwagbogu Ilobanafor, revered patriarch of the Ilobanafor family who departed this life on June 22, 2025, after 93 years of impatful living.
In a condolence message signed by the President of NAPPSA, Dr. Adekunle Tometi, Pharm. D, the association conveyed its sympathies to the Ilobanafor family, the people of Enugwu-Inyi, and Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, describing the late elder statesman as a man whose life was defined by integrity, wisdom, and selfless service.
Dr. Tometi noted that Chief Ilobanafor was “a remarkable patriarch whose life exemplified strong moral values, unwavering commitment to community development, and deep devotion to family.”
According to the NAPPSA President, the late Chief Ilobanafor was widely respected for his leadership and contributions to national and community development, particularly in Enugwu-Inyi, where his influence and legacy remain deeply rooted.
“Chief Ilobanafor lived an inspiring life marked by dedication, discipline, and service to humanity. His commitment to uplifting his community, especially through support for education and youth development, will remain evergreen in the hearts of all who knew him,” Dr. Tometi stated.
He added that beyond his public stature, the late patriarch was a pillar within his family, whose values and guidance shaped generations and will continue to speak long after his passing.
NAPPSA, which represents Nigerian pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists across the Americas, said it shares in the grief of the Ilobanafor family and stands in solidarity with them during this difficult period.
“On behalf of NAPPSA and the Nigerian pharmaceutical community in the Americas, we extend our deepest condolences to the Ilobanafor family and all who mourn this great loss,” Dr. Tometi said.
He concluded by offering prayers for the repose of the departed elder and strength for the bereaved family, while affirming that Chief Ilobanafor’s legacy of integrity, wisdom, and community service will continue to inspire future generations.
