SPSP president extols legacy of Pa. Ilobanafor, sends heartfelt condolence to Ilobanafor family

The President of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), Dr. Nathaniel Msen Awuapila, has expressed deep sympathy to Prince Cletus Ilobanafor and the entire Ilobanafor family following the passing of their patriarch, Pa Ogbuefi Clement Nwagbogu Ilobanafor (Esesuo Agbara), who died at the age of 93.

In a condolence message dated December 4, 2025, Dr. Awuapila described the late nonagenarian as a revered elder whose life embodied wisdom, dignity, and service to humanity.

“We join you in mourning the loss of a distinguished elder whose life was marked by wisdom, dignity, and service to his community,” he wrote. “His legacy, as reflected in the lives he touched and the values he upheld, will continue to inspire generations to come.”

The SPSP President noted that Pa Ilobanafor’s passing reverberated beyond his immediate family, affecting the wider Enugwu-Inyi community and everyone who had been impacted by his principles and character.

“We recognize the profound impact of his departure not only on your family but also on the wider community of Enugwu-Inyi and beyond,” Dr. Awuapila stated. “In moments like these, we are reminded of the importance of peace, unity, and the enduring strength of family bonds.”

He extended the collective sympathy of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice, including its members, Fellows, Central Working Committee (CWC), National Working Committee (NWC), Board of Fellows (BoF), and Board of Trustees (BoT).

“Be assured that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief and beyond,” he conveyed. “May the soul of Pa Ogbuefi Clement Nwagbogu Ilobanafor rest in perfect peace, and may you find comfort in the love and support of those around you.”

Pa Ilobanafor, fondly remembered for his integrity, community service, and unwavering commitment to family values, left behind a legacy that continues to reflect in his children and the generations he influenced.
