Dr. Monica Hemben Eimunjeze is an accomplished pharmacist, regulatory expert, and healthcare consultant with a remarkable track record spanning over three decades in the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory affairs. Her extensive experience and commitment to improving healthcare outcomes have established her as a leading authority in her field.
Dr. Eimunjeze dedicated fourteen years of her career to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), where she held several pivotal roles, including Director of Drug Registration and Regulatory Affairs and Director of Drug Evaluation and Research. In these positions, she played a crucial role in shaping the regulatory landscape in Nigeria, ensuring the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products.
Before her tenure at NAFDAC, she gained invaluable experience in the pharmaceutical sector. Dr. Eimunjeze worked in various capacities at Glaxo Nigeria Limited, where she excelled as a Quality Manager and Regulatory Affairs Manager. Her roles contributed significantly to the development and implementation of quality management systems and regulatory compliance within the organization.
An alumna of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Dr. Eimunjeze earned her Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and has since pursued advanced education to enhance her expertise. She holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as a Master of Science (MSc) in Biotechnology, Innovation, and Regulatory Science from Purdue University in the United States.
Driven by a passion for healthcare and a desire to foster health literacy, Dr. Eimunjeze launched the D'Bio Wellness and Selfcare initiative. This initiative is dedicated to empowering individuals and enhancing positive healthcare outcomes through selfcare, thereby alleviating pressure on health systems.
Dr. Eimunjeze’s expertise encompasses a wide range of areas, including policy formulation, regulatory affairs and compliance, supply chain security, regulatory harmonization, and Quality Management System (QMS) implementation. She has been at the forefront of transformative regulatory reform initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Nigeria’s regulatory framework.
Currently, she serves as the Convener of the D'Bio Wellness and Selfcare Summit, where she advocates for selfcare as a vital component of overall well-being. Additionally, she is the Chief Executive Officer of DeeDoo Bio Plus Pharmacare Limited and the Principal Consultant of Health Access Innovations Limited. Her influence extends to academia, as she is an Executive in Residence at the Lagos Business School (LBS) and an Advisory Board Member of both the Africa Retail Academy and the Lagos Business School Healthcare Initiative.
