BREAKING: Nigeria’s inflation rate drops for seventh consecutive time in October

Nigeria’s inflation rate fell for the seventh straight month in October 2025, dropping to 16.05 percent from 18.02 percent in September 2025.

This was disclosed in the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) October Consumer Price Index and inflation report released on Monday.

According to the CPI figures, the nation’s inflation rate eased by 0.93 percent on a month-to-month basis.

The document also indicated that food inflation recorded a decline of -0.37 percent month-on-month.

“In October 2025, the headline inflation rate eased to 16.05 percent relative to the September 2025 headline inflation rate of 18.02 percent. The headline inflation rate was 0.93 percent MoM.

“The food inflation rate was -0.37 percent MoM,” NBS wrote on X on Monday.

Recall that analysts had predicted a further moderation in the country’s inflation rate in October.
