BREAKING: Parents of students studying abroad protest over unpaid allowances

Parents of Nigerian students studying overseas on government-funded scholarships on Monday blocked the entrance of the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja, calling for the release of overdue allowances owed to their children.

The demonstrators stated that their children, who are enrolled under various bilateral education agreements and other scholarship programmes, have not been paid their stipends for 16 months, with an additional eight-month payment gap still unresolved.
