The President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Pharm. Ayuba Tanko Ibrahim, has expressed excitement and optimism ahead of the upcoming 98th PSN Annual National Conference, describing it as a deeply personal milestone—his first national conference since assuming office as President of the Society.
Speaking exclusively to CEOAFRICA during the pre-conference briefing held at the PSN National Secretariat, Lagos, Pharm. Tanko said preparations were in top gear for what promises to be a memorable gathering of pharmacists from across the country.
“This is my first national conference as PSN President, and I expect it to be one of the most successful in recent history,” he said. “You won’t regret coming to Kano, it will be a time to reunite, reconnect, and grow together.”
The PSN President, who will officially be the host of DABO 2025, emphasized that the conference holds a deep significance for him personally and professionally, marking the beginning of his tenure’s active engagement with members nationwide. He noted that his administration is committed to strengthening the unity of pharmacists across all practice areas — academia, community, hospital, industry, public service, and regulatory sectors while championing innovation and professional development
He expressed gratitude to members for their support since his emergence as the Society’s first citizen, noting that the event would mark a renewed spirit of unity and progress among pharmacists nationwide.
He added that the conference, themed “Pharmacy Forward: Building a Future-Ready Workforce for Performance, Collaboration and Transformation,” scheduled to hold from November 3–9, 2025, at the Convocation Hall, Bayero University, Kano, would provide the perfect platform to showcase the resilience and innovation within the Nigerian pharmaceutical sector.
Pharm. Tanko emphasized that hosting his first national conference as President was both an honor and a responsibility, assuring members that his administration remains committed to advancing the profession and promoting collaboration across all practice areas.
“This conference means a lot to me personally. It’s not just another annual event — it’s a moment to connect with our members, strengthen bonds, and collectively shape the future of our profession,” he added.
As preparations continue, expectations are high that DABO 2025 will not only record one of the largest turnouts in recent years but also stand out as a defining moment in Pharm. Tanko’s tenure as PSN President.
