NSCDC Deploys 500 Personnel for the Coronation of Oba Senator Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, has announced the deployment of 500 personnel to ensure optimal security and safety during the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The ceremony is set to take place on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Mapo Hall, with a grand reception to follow at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium. The security measures will encompass all events related to the weeklong celebration, starting on September 22 and concluding on October 3, 2025.

This deployment, ordered by NSCDC's Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, aims to uphold law and order, safeguard lives and property, and ensure a peaceful atmosphere throughout the coronation festivities.

Personnel from specialized units, including the Armed Squad, Counter-Terrorist Unit, and Intelligence and Investigation Department, will provide extensive security coverage across key venues, such as Mapo Hall, Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Olubadan Palace, and other significant locations within Ibadanland.

In a statement, Oyo State Commandant, Commandant Augustine Padonu emphasized the strategic positioning of personnel to secure all venues and routes associated with the coronation events. He mentioned that activities such as the Cultural Fiesta, Coronation Lecture, Coronation Ceremony, and Thanksgiving Service would be closely monitored.

“We are collaborating with other security agencies to ensure a seamless ceremony that showcases the cultural richness of Ibadanland,” he asserted.

To enhance safety, NSCDC has implemented advanced crowd control measures, traffic management strategies, and surveillance operations to address any potential risks during this high-profile event. Dignitaries expected to attend include His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde, along with various government officials, traditional rulers, and prominent leaders from across Nigeria.

The NSCDC urges all attendees and local residents to cooperate with security personnel, adhere to safety protocols, and report any suspicious activities to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration.

With this deployment, the NSCDC reaffirms its commitment to preserving and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Ibadanland, pledging that the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, will be a momentous event marked by peace and unity across the community.
