The MD/CEO of CEOAFRICA, Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, the visionary leader behind the Geneith Health Competition (GHC), has fervently called upon policymakers across Nigeria to empower the nation’s youth to become proactive ambassadors in the fight against malaria. His appeal comes at a crucial time when the burden of malaria continues to impact the health and well-being of millions.

Speaking at a health awareness forum, Prince Cletus highlighted the pivotal role that young people can play in malaria prevention efforts. "Our youths possess the energy, creativity, and passion necessary to drive meaningful change in their communities," he stated. "By equipping them with the right tools and resources, we can transform them into effective advocates for health, thereby significantly reducing the incidence of malaria."

Prince Cletus emphasized the importance of formal support from educational institutions and governmental bodies in this endeavor. He urged stakeholders to implement policies that facilitate youth engagement in health initiatives, particularly those focused on malaria. "It is imperative that we create opportunities for our youth to learn about malaria prevention and treatment, enabling them to educate their peers and communities," he added.

The call comes in light of the increasing recognition of the Geneith Health Competition, which has mobilized students nationwide to raise awareness about malaria. While summarizing the competition's achievements, Prince Cletus affirmed its potential to inspire students to take on leadership roles in health advocacy. However, he stressed that without the backing of policymakers, the impact of these initiatives may be limited.

"Policymakers must prioritize health education and youth empowerment within their agendas. By investing in programs that promote malaria awareness among students, we can foster a generation of health ambassadors who are equipped to combat this preventable disease," Prince Cletus urged.

As Nigeria confronts the challenges posed by malaria, his message serves as a rallying cry for collaboration between policymakers, educational institutions, and the youth. Only through collective efforts can the country hope to make significant strides in eradicating malaria and securing a healthier future for its population.

Prince Cletus's appeal underscores a critical moment for Nigeria’s youth to become agents of change in the fight against malaria, reinforcing the notion that investing in them is an investment in the nation’s future.
