The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) has commended the Anambra State Government, particularly under the leadership of Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for its unwavering commitment to advancing the pharmacy sector and enhancing healthcare delivery in the state especially in the improvement of drug distribution through the establishment of Coordinated Wholesale Centres (CWCs).

Pharm. Ambrose Igwekamma Ezeh, National Chairman of the ACPN emphasized the importance of the proactive approach in implementing initiatives that align with the National Drug Distribution Guidelines (NDDG) established in 2015. He praised the pharmacy-friendly policies of the Soludo administration, stating, "The Soludo administration has emerged as the most pharmacy-friendly in Nigeria today."

Ezeh cited the notable appointments of pharmacists to key governmental positions, which demonstrate a willingness to integrate pharmaceutical expertise into health policy-making and further strengthens the healthcare framework in Anambra State.

He commended the state government for its commitment to creating a conducive environment for pharmaceutical operations and for facilitating the allocation of land for industrial pharmacists to enhance research and development endeavors within the CWC.

Ezeh underscored the importance of infrastructure development, noting the allocation of land for industrial pharmacists at the CWC, which will facilitate essential research, laboratory testing, and cold storage capabilities. He noted the need for momentum, stating, "We salute the gallantry of Gov. Soludo, who is committed to the smooth take-off of what must become the most Strategic CWC in Nigeria."

He urged that the successful implementation of the NDDG is vital for improving drug distribution practices across Nigeria. "We must ensure that our drug distribution mechanisms are robust and reliable," Ezeh declared, reiterating the need for all stakeholders to support the CWC initiative actively.

Ezeh concluded by reaffirming the ACPN's commitment to collaborating with the Anambra State Government, indicating that such partnerships are crucial for achieving significant advancements in the pharmaceutical sector that ultimately benefit health consumers in Nigeria. He expressed confidence that with continued effort and cooperation, the state can become a benchmark for effective pharmacy operations and healthcare service delivery nationwide.
