The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Enugu State for next month’s general election, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, yesterday expressed optimism that President Goodluck Jonathan will be re-elected because of his good works and transformational agenda for the nation which have endeared him to the electorate.

He said the opposition lacked the leadership credentials to win next month’s election.

Ugwuanyi who spoke while addressing a large crowd of supporters at the PDP campaign rally in Oji River Local Government Area of the state urged Nigerians not to gamble with their votes as that would not be in the best interest of the nation.

He also commended Governor Sullivan Chime for making governance easy in Enugu State through his unprecedented performance in office, adding that this was the reason why he and his running mate, Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, accepted to continue and consolidate on the gains of the four-point agenda of Chime’s administration in the state.

The Party’s governorship candidate noted that it will be a disservice to deny the nation the great vision of President Jonathan, as is evident in the numerous achievements his administration has recorded in the last four years.
He therefore called on the people of Oji River Local Government Area to come out en masse and vote for President Jonathan and other candidates of the party in the state in the February general election.

Earlier in his speech, Governor Sullivan Chime, who was excited by the huge crowd at the rally, thanked the people of Oji River Local Government Area for expanding their support, goodwill and followership of the party and further urge them to vote for all the candidates of the PDP in the coming elections.

The governor also urged them to ensure that they collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) to enable them vote during the elections.

Other dignitaries that spoke at the rally include, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, who is also the Senatorial Candidate of the party in the area, the House of Representatives Candidate of the party, Hon Toby Okechukwu, the House of Assembly Candidate of the party, Hon. Donatus Ozogbado, the State Chairman of the party, Chief Ikeje Asogwa, the Council Chairman, Hon.
