As we enter the final stretch with just 26 days to go until the ACPN National Conference tagged "IFEADIGO 2025," we highlight the remarkable Ogbaukwu Cave and Waterfall, located in Owerre Ezukala, within the Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. This natural wonder showcases stunning limestone formations and features a mesmerizing waterfall that cascades beautifully into a river near its primary entrance.
Reaching the waterfall involves descending more than sixty-seven flights of stairs, leading visitors to a massive dome that serves as a captivating focal point of the cave. Ogbaukwu is known for its unique compartments and crevices, boasting several entrances and exits, with the main entrance situated closest to the staircase. These spacious compartments are said to be large enough to accommodate an entire village, emphasizing the cave's vastness.
Exploring the Ogbaukwu Cave can take approximately two hours, showcasing its status as the largest cave in West Africa. As an added honor, this extraordinary location is on the verge of being considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which speaks volumes about its significance and natural beauty.
As we prepare for the IFEADIGO 2025 conference, set to be held from July 22 to 27, 2025, at the International Conference Center in Awka, we are reminded of the profound connection between our natural heritage and public health. This year’s theme, “Technology Integration and Personalized Care: The Future of Community Pharmacists’ Practice in Nigeria,” encourages us to reflect on the importance of preserving our natural environments while advancing healthcare practices.
Join us in appreciating the magnificence of the Ogbaukwu Cave and Waterfall as we continue the countdown to IFEADIGO 2025! Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
