The Benue State University Teaching Hospital has begged Nigerians to donate blood for victims injured in herdsmen attack in Makurdi, the state capital.

This comes after the bloodthirsty criminal elements launched unprovoked attacks on Mtsewnem and Akondutyough villages in the North Bank area of Makurdi, killing several persons and leaving scores injured.

According to a statement by Tsenzughul Moses, acting Head of Public Relations and Protocol Department of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, many of the injured victims are in critical condition and require urgent blood transfusions.

The statement read, “Following the recent tragic Fulani herdsmen attack early hours of today, many survivors have been rushed to Benue State University Teaching Hospital for treatment. These victims are in critical need of blood to survive.

“We are urgently calling on the public to donate blood and help save lives.

“Please proceed immediately to the Haematology Department, Blood Bank Unit at Benue State University Teaching Hospital to make your donation.

“Your contribution can make the difference between life and death. Thank you for your compassion and swift response.”
