As we journey into the 57-day countdown towards the 44th Annual International Scientific Conference of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), our anticipation grows alongside our admiration for the remarkable individuals who have shaped our nation. Today, we honor Prof. Ben Nwabueze, one of Nigeria’s foremost constitutional lawyers and a distinguished figure in the legal profession.

Born on December 22, 1931, in Atani, Ogbani LGA of Anambra State, Prof. Nwabueze has earned his reputation as a leading legal scholar, affectionately referred to as the “Professor of Professors.” He was made a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 1978, a recognition granted strictly on the merit of his published works, which have contributed significantly to constitutional law in Nigeria.

Prof. Nwabueze earned his Doctor of Law (LLD) at the University of London in 1978, grounded in the thorough analysis presented in his three influential books: Constitutional Law, Presidentialism, and Judicialism. These works have been pivotal in understanding Nigeria's constitutional framework and governing principles.

His illustrious career includes prestigious positions and contributions to academia. From 1962 to 1965, he served as a Senior Lecturer at Holborn College of Law in London, before returning to Nigeria where he became a Senior Lecturer at the University of Nigeria Nsukka from 1967 to 1970. In 1971, he took on the role of Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Zambia and served as the Director of the Law Practice Institution in Zambia from 1973 to 1975.

Beyond academia, Prof. Nwabueze was the pioneering Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, dedicated to promoting the interests and welfare of the Igbo people both locally and in the diaspora.

As we approach "IFEADIGO 2025," which will be hosted from July 22 to 27, 2025, at the International Conference Center in Awka, Anambra, the conference theme—“Technology Integration and Personalized Care: The Future of Community Pharmacy Practice”—echoes the transformative vision that Prof. Nwabueze has advocated in law and governance.

Anambra State, prominently referred to as the “light of the nation,” is honored to be the backdrop for this significant event. The term “IFEADIGO” translates to “light has come,” embodying the essence of hope, progress, and enlightenment that the conference aims to promote.

As we continue our preparations for "IFEADIGO 2025," let us draw inspiration from Prof. Ben Nwabueze's exemplary dedication to the advancement of law and education. Join us as we gather to share ideas, celebrate our heritage, and forge paths toward progress in community pharmacy and healthcare in Nigeria. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach this momentous occasion!
