We are 85 days down to "IFEADIGO 2025", and as we embark on this exciting journey, it’s important to reflect on the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of Anambra State. Known as the "Light of the Nation," Anambra symbolizes enlightenment and progress, boasting a vibrant history that has shaped Nigeria’s socio-political landscape.

Among the notable landmarks in Anambra is the Zik Mausoleum, also referred to as Zik’s Place, located in Onitsha. This site serves as a powerful symbol that highlights the challenges and triumphs of Nigeria’s journey toward nationhood. The mausoleum commemorates Nnamdi Azikiwe, Nigeria's foremost nationalist, who passed away on May 11, 1996, at the age of 92.

Like many mausoleums, Zik’s Place is multi-functional, consisting of a museum that houses Zik’s grave, as well as an administrative unit that spans two floors. This administrative area includes a reception, offices, conference halls, a VIP lounge, a museum and archives, a video display room, research facilities, and a library, all dedicated to preserving the legacy of a significant figure in Nigerian history.

As we approach the 44th Annual International Scientific Conference of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) tagged "IFEADIGO 2025", scheduled to take place from July 22 to 27, 2025, at the International Conference Center in Awka, it’s essential to recognize that IFEADIGO means "light has come."

This theme resonates deeply with our gathering that aims to illuminate the future of community pharmacy practice through the lens of innovation and technology. The conference will center on "Technology Integration and Personalized Care: The Future of Community Pharmacy Practice," showcasing the vital contributions of pharmacists in advancing healthcare.

Let us honor our heritage, as represented by monumental sites like the Zik Mausoleum, while we look forward to the progress and enlightenment that "IFEADIGO 2025" promises to deliver.
